Thanksgiving Mini Style

With Thanksgiving just a little over two weeks away, it's time to get our planning started! I've mentioned already that we will be hosting our first ever big family Thanksgiving dinner at our house this year, fourteen (and a half) of us! Harper was around 9 months old (I first typed 11 months, guess I need to freshen up on my math...) last year at this time, so Thanksgiving day was her first "all real food meal". I just know she is going to dig in & love every second of it this year!

Things I am most excited for include cinnamon butter, the Macy's parade, so much Christmas music, more cinnamon butter, having our house be a total zoo, our annual white elephant gift exchange on Thanksgiving night & watching Christmas Vacation for the first time this year.

And of course, there are festive outfits to pick out! :) Here are my favorite baby/toddler styles for Thanksgiving day!

All of those outfits would go so cute with one of these feather headbands & any gorgeous color of these moccasins, they are so perfect for Thanksgiving style! I plan on rocking something with a very expandable waistline & a pretty apron for a long day of cooking (and eating). Have I mentioned how much I love being pregnant for Thanksgiving?! :)

Are you as excited for Thanksgiving as we are?!

This week, we have a special giveaway just for the pregnant mamas! ;)
Let me introduce you to the Bump Nest. I am beyond obsessed with this incredibly soft, snuggly pregnancy pillow!! It has been amazing for my tailbone pain. I loved it so much that I had to ask if they would be willing to be a part of this giveaway in hopes that another one of you could experience sleep this good! There are multiple ways to sleep with it, so you can really do whatever is most comfortable for you. And if nothing else, you can straighten it out & put it right down the middle of the bed so your partner knows not to cross that line so you can have all your own space while you & your big bump sleep! ;)

Not to mention, the fabrics (view them here) are gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.

All you have to do is enter below! And as always, have a great weekend!!

PS. You may have noticed there was no giveaway last Friday, but something extra special is in the works very soon to make up for it, so stay tuned! :) XO

Baby Garvin #2 is a................

We are sooooooo excited to announce that Little Baby Garvin #2 is a GIRL!!!!!!!
We found out on Monday, and even though I have had a really strong feeling that it was another girl, it still seemed like a huge shock! It will be pink on pink on pink over here & Brandon has already called dibs on building himself a treehouse in the backyard! ;) We could not be happier & I can not wait for Harper to have a sister!!!

How far along: 15 weeks
Gender: GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Weight gain: I really feel like I popped this week, my belly feels so much bigger & I can no longer button my jeans. I won't know how much weight until my next appointment.
Maternity clothes: Not quite yet but just pulled out all of my stuff from last time. Not looking forward to Christmas party dress shopping with a giant belly!
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: I have been sleeping with a bump nest pillow for the last two weeks & it is heavenly!! During my last pregnancy, I remember feeling like my body pillow was such a lifesaver & I wished I had started using it sooner. This bump nest is beyond amazing & has helped so much with my tailbone pain & heartburn. I sleep snug as a bug in a rug!! ;)
Best moment this week: Our ultrasound, of course!! AND my love of iced coffee has finally returned, hallelujah!!!
Worst moment this week: Flying solo while Brandon was out of town for work for a few days, while both Harper & I had colds. I was starting to lose my marbles.
Miss anything: A cold beer on a Friday night. A pair of jeans that fit... at all.
Movement: Still just a few flutters & rolls here and there. Ready for some kicks & for Brandon to be able to feel them!
Cravings: Strawberries & anything "refreshing & fruity". I've been eating all of Harper's popsicles from the summer & craving frozen strawberry lemonades. And Mexican food.... if I could have a bottomless bowl of chips & queso to eat all day I would be such a happy camper!
Queasy or sick: Feeling good!
Looking forward to: I am really excited to go through all of Harper's clothes to start organizing everything to reuse. Baby number two will be two months behind Harper in terms of seasons, so thinking I can definitely get away with her wearing a lot of Harp's stuff, especially all her festive holiday outfits!! I also can not wait to plan coordinating outfits for MY GIRLS!!!

PS.  Boy mamas, I promise to start including more boy stuff in our outfit posts just for you! ;)

Sweet November

November is shaping up to be a pretty busy month for us. Between work travel & visitors, we are hoping to find a few days to really enjoy all the amazing things that November has to offer. To soak it all in & remember all of the things that there are to be thankful for.
To stop & smell the turkey, if you will.

Thanks to our good friend, daylight savings time, Harper has now been waking up at the crack of dawn. And as many of you know, few extra hours in the day with a toddler is... well... interesting. So, the other morning we hit one of our favorite breakfast spots for a little donut date before the day even got started. Harper loves getting to peek in the windows to the kitchen to see how all the goodies are made & sit like a big girl at the table with me.
Can you spot the chocolate mint buttercream that literally had me drooling at the counter?

I know, the amount of donuts on my plate is unacceptable. However. I am pregnant & I really couldn't pick just one. And I am a sucker for strawberries.

I am so thankful for these fun times, just me & my Harpie Doodle. She has no idea all the fun that is in store for her.

I am so eager to put out Christmas decorations, but since we are hosting the Thanksgiving feast at our house this year, I am forcing myself to hold off. At least on the main floor.
For now, I brought inside one of the grey/green gourds from outside and added a few white & gold pumpkins & some branches. I found this Give Thanks banner at Pottery Barn Kids & was immediately obsessed! That little gem is the only thing that has kept me from winter-wonderlanding our living room days ago! ;)

Hope you are all enjoying November so far. 'Tis the season to be thankful!

Love List

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! We are kicking off this Monday with an extra festive Love List, since I am totally in the holiday spirit today!
This may have something to do with it.

1. Red nails. 'Tis the season! Harper's little tootsies even got a bright coat of red this week. Now just working on her Christmas vocab... "Santa!" "Christmas!" "Shitter's Full!" You know, the necessities.

2. Thanksgiving decorations are going up tomorrow... new prints, white pumpkins & as always, a festive garland! :) It took me forever to get rid of Halloween stuff sprinkled around the house & I'm pretty sure Harper isn't going to give up the pumpkin trick-or-treat bucket anytime this century.
Do you decorate for Thanksgiving?!

3. Nothing makes me more excited for the holidays than Christmas flavored Philosophy body wash. I rave about them all the time because they are honestly the best. My pumpkin pie is almost gone which means it is almost time to make the festive switch! These are also my go-to Christmas gift for all the lovely ladies in my life!

4. All mint everything. I craved peppermint when I was pregnant with Harper & have been craving it again this time around. Lucky for me, being pregnant around the holidays means it is everywhere! I am on the hunt for the perfect mint chocolate cookie. You know, other than thin mints.

5. Christmas music! I will always wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put up the tree & most decorations, but that won't stop me from listening to Christmas music starting the day after Halloween. See my all time favorites on my holiday playlist here!

6. Harper absolutely must have this festive nightgown. A nightgown on a toddler?! I can't even. I am also obsessed with these red & grey one pieces & plan to scoop one up for baby number two! :)

7. Speaking of babe number two... my belly seems to be growing like crazy this week & I made my very first baby purchase. A pair of white fur booties to match mamas!

Halloween 2013

Happy November 1st!! I woke up this morning SO excited that today is the official start of the "holiday" season! :) I am already dreaming about Thanksgiving dinner & have had Christmas music on since breakfast. Bring on the madness!

But first, we must recap Halloween! :)

We had beautiful weather here yesterday, so spent most of the afternoon outside setting up for the festivities. Harper was a wild child, she knew it was Halloween & had every intention of being a little extra crazy just because of it. How very festive of her.
Brandon made signs out of some wood leftover in the garage from the workbench he built. Such a champ! :) He threw some stain on them & I painted them with some white (and glow in the dark) paint! We used these to point trick-or-treaters in the right direction to get to the backyard!

On the back patio, we had our candy buffet & goodies all set up for our friends & all of the trick-or-treaters. The Kit-Kat bars disappeared in a hot second, then everyone went for the cupcakes & popcorn. One little girl told us that we had the best candy in the neighborhood. Another girl looked at the display & said "there is nothing here that I want" & bounced. I almost peed my pants.

 And then there were costumes.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY!!

We had the most fun ever with this costume!! I love a good family costume, but it is certainly not the easiest thing to put together. I mentioned it to Brandon a few weeks ago & he was immediately on board thinking he could get away with wearing some Chicago Bears football gear. Worked for me!
When Harper saw my face painted, she couldn't stop puckering up to kiss me, the funniest thing!! I had brought my eyeliner pen down to paint her nose & she LOVED IT. She stood totally still & was so happy to have a kitty nose like mama. It was the highlight of  my night!

She had the absolute best time trick-or-treating & helping to hand out candy to everyone. Overall, the most fun holiday so far! I can't wait to see what she thinks of Thanksgiving & Christmas this year!! Hope you all had the most amazing & fun Halloween!!
